Visited Bellevue Botanical Gardens for the first time today. My mother-in-law loved the alpine garden. I just wanted to sit and wait for bees. I had to settle for this photo because the boys really were looking forward to the playground.

Ariel over at Microspotting sent me this tshirt a while back and I just now got a chance to post a picture with me in it. Thanks Ariel.

The 1981 Mercedes 240D behind me is the family tank. It’s a wonderful little machine that just keeps on going. We got it last year in September and have absolutely loved it. The rubber fuel lines were replaced with viton cables and the sludge in the fuelk tank flushed in preparation of running biodieselfull time. We have run B99 in it since then. It runs much quieter (greater lubricity) and with much less soot. It is a great addition to our family. There are plenty of places around the area to fill up with B99 and it’s the second car we’ve been running biodiesel in.

The car’s name is Tralfaz. We have a tradition of picking car names from the Jetsons cartoon show. Tralfaz was the original name of Astro before he was found and adopted by the Jetsons, in case you didn’t know.

BTW - did you realize Microsoft is doing lots of good in the promotion of biodiesel?

Article 1: started converting grease and oil from its kitchens to biodiesel

Article 2: while building our new data center which gets most power through Hydroelectric generators: The trucks ferrying cement to and from the massive building site and equipment used inside the first building are all powered with biodiesel made from Washington-grown canola oil.

Pretty awesome to see a big company promoting something my wife Sam (She’s the one who knows way more about it than I do! She got me into thinking of buying Tralfaz!) and I are into. Sam is a member of the NW Biodiesel Network and thier site is an excellent resource to find out more information to educate yourself about biodiesel.
