Miscelaneous shots tonight - bug, wife, kid

A Dragonfly up close - I stacked a PK-11, PK-12, PK13, mounted a 60mm f/2.8 micro lens in reverse with a BR-2a and BR-5 for this @f/8 with a off camera SB-600.

2005 Seattle Folklife Festival - Seattle Center - Space Needle

The 2005 Seattle Folklife Festival was fun for our family - it drew a lot of people from all over the Seattle area as you can see from the large crowds!

Quick ride on the bus over the bridge...

Decent size crowds..

Space Needle

Quick stop at the children's museum to talk to Arthur, check out a book, and examine a scientific speciman...

Hanging out at the fountain people watching...

Video: Pictures of Kayaking... MTV style

First time I spent a couple minutes (more like 2 days on and off as I learned a couple new tools) to create a video out of some still shots. It's got a lot of the MTVish feel to it and was fun to do - sure it's a little choppy here or there - but it was fun for me and I think would go a heck of a lot quicker (and smoother) next time.

Click here for the video - is a series of stills that I took a month ago of a friend, Steve Munk. I set it to some music from http://www.freeplaymusic.com (the track is called "Vertical Assault"). You'll need a Windows Media 9 compatible player to see the video - hope you enjoy it.

Photo Friday: Green

Well, entering late but this is the closest thing I found in previously taken shots that was close to "green" that I was happy with... On to next week's Photo Friday challenge of "Symbol"....

Kayaking in the dark.

Hey Kayakers - if you want to purchase a print with no watermark I should have a gallery up at this site.

These guys didn't get on the river till 7pm... and it was cloudy. definitely a less than ideal set of conditions for photo making.

Ferrari Club Event: Local collision shop tech session

Went to the NWRFCA tech session at Queen City in Redmond, WA yesterday. It was a nice shop tour with some interesting info about the specialty of working with aliminum framed cars (Audi S8, Ferrari 360/430, Jaguar XJ8).

Kid's Art Festival

We went to the Art Festival at the school Greg will be attending next year... he and all the other kids looked to have an absolutely great time. I really look forward to him starting there.

Head of school talking with parents and watching the activities:

Beautiful grounds - this is a flower from the gardens that students and teachers maintain:

Hat Parade:

Greg loved making some cookies:

Which he proudly wore the remains of the rest of the day:

LOVES the megaphone on this playground equipmemt:

Surprised Tiger:

Kids are anything but self-concious:

Checking up to make sure the parents are doing ok...

A little colgate for the big bad wolf's stew...

Lot's of activity booths:

Greg's final shot of the day:

Parting shot of a playful tiger:

I really can't wait for Greg to start going here every day - it just feels like a school that I would have loved as a kid. They seem to really encourage each kid to be themselves. All of the kids today from ages 3-12 seemed to have a respect for each other, their teachers, and their parents but still able to have fun with all of them at the same time. The school's materials on hand for art, for learning, for everything they do seems endless. My mother-in-law Marilyn taught for 30 years in Columbus, OH and I can only imagine she would have loved to have 10% of the supplies any one of the classrooms has.

Anyway - today was a lot of fun for all three of us.
