Marymoor Park

Fun with 70-200mm f/2.8 VR.

I like this lens a lot - the more I use it the more I like it. And to think I was originally a little scared of getting it due to the reviews whining about flaring. I shot "almost" into direct sunlight yesterday and it was plenty good for me with no flaring. Of course I did think aboutit conciously but I do with all lenses...

Really like the new Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR - the AF-S just makes tracking fast moving opjects so nice and easy. Just got the lens this week and look forward to using it on a regular basis. :-)

RIP Gordon Hamilton

Gordon (left in above photo) from my high school (Kingswood-Oxford School, West Hartford CT) was a great athlete and a genuinely nice person that was always upbeat. I didn't have contact with him since high school but I searched through some of my old negatives and I'm pretty sure I like this image the best.

Some day in the next 6 months I'll be done scanning the film images I picked out thile reviewing old slides and actually properly post a small chunk of my favorites on the web and revisit some in this blog.

RIP.

Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center

Went to the Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center today - was a lot of fun - great deal of exhibits that were very kid friendly. And it had a lot of information on puget sound shipping practices and some info about the fish food industry that was a fun read for Sam and I.

Floats on the floor near the legos...

Subtle fill flash... just playing around a little.

Working through a puzzle with Mom.

Another puzzle - and some random kid who decided to help. :-) Subtle fill flash again to remove shadows in the faces...

Neat detail from the mock up of the ship command center... Chemical attack alarm? Would hate to have to use that!
