Cool - PMA booth photo

This photo of mine is one of twenty Microsoft Employee photos that won an internal contest to be used in a Microsoft booth on digital imaging at one of the many tradeshows Microsoft attends. The other photos were really good so I'm flattered that my snapshot of my son got picked!

Photo Friday Challenge: Crowded

My entry for Photo Friday. Image of some bobbing ducks at a local fair. My son loved the frog he got that day... still have it.

Remlinger Farms

This shot of the peeled, faded and barely noticable Remlinger Farms sign just amuses me so I'm putting it in as my Photo Friday entry for 'signs'.

Some other photos from this day in October.

Photo Friday Entry: 'Silhouette'

My entry for the Photo Friday 'Silhouette' challenge.

Taken in 1991 at teh US Olympic Festival. This is at the LA Polo Club grounds - there are no filters, it is natural light on Kodak Ektachrome Type-X, Nikon F4 with 500mm f/4 CPU lens at f/4.

The Museum of Flight, in Renton WA within the Boeing Corporation's massive amount of real eestate is really impressive. It is just every kid's dream to see this many planes up close and personal. We didn't even have time to see the complete museum (we skipped two wings) and it was a lot of fun.

Great way to spend a day - if you're lucky and you go on a day that it isn't raining you can go through the retired Air Force One and the Concorde that is in the auxiliary area of the museum (across the street). Great fun. Well worth the trip if you're in the Seattle area.

Baseball future hopefull...

I always liked this picture - I snapped it at one of the the 1991 Olympic Festival baseball games held at University of Southern California. This kid was sooooo intent on watching everything in the game - he stayed like this for most of the game - just taking in everything the olympic players were doing.

Just always liked the moment and the fact you can instantly recognize it as baseball but that it could be any baseball field anywhere in America.

More old film... flag and a tree.

This was the last shot on a roll of TMAX 3200 that I had been using for indoor volleyball. It was just something I saw on the way back to the car and thought it looked right - taken in 1992 when I was in San Diego for the America's Cup.

I'll post a couple other old shots from film this week since I got finished processing another batch or two of the film I've been scanning. I think I'm about half way done with the process.

As you can see the film is beginning to show some age on this scan - this is full frame and you notice discoloration at the borders, etc. - glad I finally bought a scanner so I can preserve at least some of the memories (and also so I can weed out the thousands of frames of real film that I no longer need to keep in storage. By the time I'm done I'll have less than one full shoebox of just the negatives I've scanned + DVDs that are backups of those same images. :-)

Photo Friday Challenge: Best of 2004

I'm entering this as my "Best of 2004" in Photo Friday even though it may not be the "best" photographic picture technically - but it is one of my favorites of my son because he's all slimey and dirty from playing hard and just taking a quick juice break.

The runners up (of my son...):

These were also some of my favorites... just due to the very candid nature of them.
