Wordle applied to candidate speeches
Wordle.net is a site capable of producing images that include the relative # of times a word comes up in a chunk of text (often referred to as word clouds) to help you visualize the chunk of text it just analyzed. The bigger the word the more often it was used. I just ran the acceptance speech for each presidential and vice-presidential candidate through it for amusement.
| Obama | McCain |
| Biden | Palin |
I find it interesting that the themes (as I see them) for the presidential acceptances were “Promise / Change / America can” for Obama and “Country / Fight / Fought” for McCain.
Just thought it was a neat visualization technology.
