I’ve seen this happen – people who wish to prove they are smart as an interviewer try to intentially mess up a candidate. These people should be taken out back and beat about the head. I usually try to do everything I can to ensure a candidate understands the bounds of a question and I remind them to ask me clarifying questions.

It’s just frustrating to see this happen… especially in an interview loop… like people interviewing don’t have enough stress.
